REACHING OUT INTO THE COMMUNITY

We believe the church exists not simply for its own sake, but also to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. At Brookhaven Christian Church, we have made a conscious decision to identify certain programs in our local community and to establish a two way connection with them. We continually seek to develop an understanding of what is most important and most needed within these select programs and work together in meeting those needs. These are some of our partner organizations:

STREETGRACE

Street Grace is a faith-based organization leading churches, community organizations and individual volunteers on a comprehensive path to end domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST) in Metro Atlanta and throughout the United States.

We believe that freeing the oppressed and advocating for vulnerable children is very close to the heart of the gospel, and there is no greater oppression than the sex trafficking of children.

We partner with Street Grace in various volunteer events, including the annual Blessing Bag event, which fills backpacks full of non-perishable foods to provide nourishment to vulnerable children over their spring break from school.

INTERFAITH OUTREACH HOME

Interfaith Outreach Home provides transitional housing for homeless families as well as a comprehensive program that helps to empower families to take control of their lives and successfully return to the larger community. We host seasonal events a couple of times a year for the families living there and also assist in preparing vacant apartments for new families.

SUTHERS CENTER

The Suthers Center is a collaborative ministry of several of the churches in the Brookhaven area, including Brookhaven Christian Church. The center houses a thrift store, a food pantry and an emergency assistance program. The proceeds from the thrift store supports the ministries of the center and it is run completely by volunteers.

CAMPBELL STONE

Campbell-Stone offers affordable living options for senior adults seeking to live independently, including financial assistance for those who qualify.

We host musical and social events at the Buckhead location to provide companionship and fun for the residents, as well as to develop camaraderie with them.

SERVING THE CONGREGATION - IN REACH

We believe it is important to reach out into the community, but we are also called to care for one another. We seek to give back to our members in need by identifying individuals in need of service, support, or guidance and matching them with skills of others within the congregation.
